You can be beautiful but if you don't know how to walk the runway, show the clothes, take care of your skin, do your makeup and hair, know how to work in front of the camera and how to talk to people in a positive manner you won't have a competitive edge in the modeling business.....A lot of girls want to be models but aren't willing to learn the business. | When I went to these classes I was a little bit uncomfortable with myself... talking in front of people, and taking pictures just wasn't my thing! My thing was playing rough sports and being a tom-boy.... just like one of the guys.... but I wanted to get just a little more feminine... get to know the girl in me. :) So I took modeling classes. I learned how to put make- up on, I learned how to walk w/ high heels, and I learned etiquette. Then I graduated from modeling.... now I love taking pictures of myself, and talking in front of people.... I just wanted to say thank you so much, thanks to my teachers, at the modeling school... | When I first started coming to JC, I really didn't think modeling was all that difficult but I've learned that it takes training, dedication and commitment to learn all the skills necessary to be good at modeling. There is more to ramp walking then just walking a straight line - there are all the different turns and knowing choreography, knowing the right way to show different styles of clothes, how to work with 2 or 3 more models on the ramp at the same time you are walking. If you want to be considered a true professional and respected as a professional model, you have to know what you are doing whether it is ramp, photography, informal modeling, promotional modeling, etc. I am grateful for everything the JC teachers taught me and for being patient with me as I learned. I'm looking forward to starting my modeling career. |

Now, I have goals and have even accomplished some of my short-term goals. My teachers have been encouraging and supportive of me. I'm way more confident now and feel much, much better about myself and who I am. I use to compare my looks and myself to movie stars but no more. | I am enjoying my classes a lot. I love the makeup classes. I really didn't know how to apply my makeup right before coming here and never felt like I looked as good as I could look. Now, I know how to apply makeup, the right colors for me personally and that a natural look is always best.
